Tijjani Reijnders has been appointed as the new head coach of AC Milan, replacing Gennaro Gattuso who left the club in December.

Reijnders is a Dutch former footballer and manager who played for clubs such as Ajax, Feyenoord, and PSV Eindhoven before turning to coaching. He began his managerial career with Feyenoord and then moved on to join AS Monaco where he helped them win the Ligue 1 title in 2016-17.

In his first season at Monaco, Reijnders led the team to a third-place finish in the league, but they were eliminated from the Champions League by eventual champions Paris Saint-Germain in the round of 16.

Since leaving Monaco, Reijnders has been working as an assistant coach under Carlo Ancelotti at Chelsea, helping the Blues to a UEFA Europa League victory in 2019.

Now, after spending time with Chelsea, Reijnders will take over as the head coach of AC Milan, a club that he is familiar with having spent time there during his playing days.

AC Milan have struggled this season, finishing bottom of Serie A and facing relegation to the second tier. However, Reijnders has expressed his desire to help turn things around at the San Siro and lead the club back to the top of Italian football.
